UAA MANIFESTO
WE, THE UNITED AIRSOFT ALLIANCE (PHILIPPINES), desiring to establish a truly representative and broad-based, non-governing organization among airsofters do hereby ordain and promulgate the following principles:
We believe in defending the inherent right of every individual to play airsoft games freely and responsibly
We believe in the fundamental equality of each individual and team, without discrimination or preference as to affiliation, region, social or financial status, or quality of equipment
We believe in a Code of Ethics as a basis for the establishment of fundamental rules of fair play, honesty, and integrity, while promoting safety and camaraderie among airsoft players
We believe in the fundamental dignity, freedom, and right of each airsoft team to remain independent and govern itself in the manner it sees fit, consistent with the Code of Ethics of the Alliance, as well as the right of each individual player to remain independent and unaffiliated while maintaining a voice within the community.
We believe in youth empowerment and the right of the younger players to take charge of the future of airsoft and chart their own destiny, as well as assume responsibility for their actions
We believe in the right of airsoft commercial establishments to operate freely and obtain a fair return on their investment, to provide continuing service to the community while keeping the costs of the sport within the reach of as much individuals as possible
We denounce high velocity guns which serve no other purpose than to injure other players, provided that the use of specialized high powered guns are left to the individual conscience and responsibility of the users thereof.
We believe that camaraderie and brotherhood, and not politics, should be the basis of relationship among players, and for this reason, we believe that a grievance commission should privately mediate differences between players and teams in an atmosphere of maturity and reason.
NOTES:
1. Our organization has been in existence for the past 2 months. to date, 23 teams, both from hi-end and ACM groups, have joined us and a small number of lonewolves. This is our initial public announcement of our existence. If you agree with what we stand for, as stated above, then we invite everybody to join our cause.
we are a small group of individuals. but all great things begin with little people with great big dreams. we dream of making history for airsoft by uniting teams and lonewolves, hi-end and ACM, and all regional and provincial teams and individuals, with a common voice.
2. We used the word "united" because this is an effort to unify both hi-end and ACM players, as well as lonewolves and teams. The term "alliance" was coined to denote the freedom of individual members within a non-governing organization, while adhering to a concrete set of principles.
3. "non-governing organization" means that every team and individual within the alliance shall maintain its/his/her freedom, identity and autonomy. the only limiting factor is that you must adhere to the Code of Ethics, which is that stated in the fas and ACM board on rules of airsoft playing, which we have adopted as our Code.
4. This has nothing to do with legalization. Whether you join our alliance or not you will still benefit from legalization. However, the first order of business of the airsoft alliance shall be the smooth transition and assistance of members into legalization. Also, we will represent members in any problem that they may have regarding their airsoft guns. Lastly, we shall assist members in obtaining comelec gun ban exemption during the upcoming elections. We intend to hold regular projects, tournaments, and shall continue and maintain the fight for your right to play airsoft.
We shall seek and obtain alliances with other private gun groups such as the Association of Firearms and Ammunition dealers of the Philippines (AFAD), PROGUN, for purposes of gun shows and for publicity and expansion.
We likewise shall maintain our close ties with the PNP-FED and other law enforcement and military units.
5. We seek to establish a grievance commission composed of a council of elders who are at least 40 yrs and above and/or those who have been playing for at least 10 years. The commission will privately mediate complaints and problems between players in an atmosphere of maturity and civility. The commission shall not decide who is right and who is wrong. It will simply bring the parties together and try to come up with a fair and sensible solution to the problem.
in the 2 months of our existence the Alliance has successfully resolved 1 dispute between two teams.
in addition, we are the only organization that has successfully brought together warring factions and teams, and individuals who have had years of past enmity, together in one table to discuss common goals.
6. We do not as yet have any intentions to have elections for president, etc. and neither do we have any need yet for by-laws or rules on voting. currently, we are a loose association which acts through a spokesperson and a core of about 8 individuals from various teams and unaffiliated persons, who have convened the alliance and who will assist into the smooth transition into legalization. after this has been accomplished, we shall formally organize through a general meeting for the purpose and all details shall be discussed publicly.
7. We decline to disclose at this time who and what teams have joined the alliance thus far, because we want those who are intending to join to sign on based on the principles we stand for and not due to any personality or particular teams involved.
